📘 How to Use the Vocabulary Quizzes

When you open a quiz page:

• Select All Words or a subset of 10 (e.g., Words 11–20) to view and study that part.
• You may use checkboxes to further limit the number of selected words you want to include in the quiz.
• Above the word table you will find these buttons (Order and Direction appear in the All Words view; Print and Flashcards work in every view and use only the words you have checked):
  • ⇅Order – sort words alphabetically or return to the original order.
  • ⇄Direction – switch the quiz between English → Spanish and Spanish → English.
  • 🖨Print – print the checked words as a numbered list. It opens in a new window; if nothing appears, allow pop-ups for this site.
  • 📇Flashcards – print fold-in-half flashcards (6 per page, English on one half and Spanish on the other) for the checked words.
  • 📝Worksheet – print a worksheet (matching + write-the-translation) with an answer key on a separate page.
  • 🗣Voice – choose which installed Spanish and English voices read the words aloud.
• All word lists and printable materials are free for personal or classroom use.
• Click the speaker 🔊 icon to hear the pronunciation (browser voice).
• Click the globe 🌐 icon to open Google Translate for the word.
• Choose a quiz mode under the Begin button: Multiple choice (pick the answer; keys 1–9 work too) or Type the answer (type the translation and press Enter; accents and capitals are ignored unless you tick Require accents, and any listed alternative such as “chofer, conductor” is accepted).
• Click [Begin Quiz] to start testing yourself.
• The ＋ button next to a Spanish word saves it to My Flashcards; after a quiz you can add all the words you missed with one click.

Note about pronunciation: Where Mexico and Spain use different words, the quizzes use the Mexican one. Browsers rely on the voices installed on your device. The site automatically prefers a Mexican Spanish (es-MX) voice when one is installed, then a US or Latin American Spanish voice; otherwise you may hear a Spain accent. To get the best match, install a voice labeled "Mexican Spanish":

• On iPhone/iPad: Mexican Spanish is built-in (voice: "Paulina").
• On Android: You can enable Mexican Spanish in system language or Google TTS settings.
• On Windows/macOS: You may need to install a Mexican Spanish voice in your system’s speech settings.

• My Flashcards – spaced-repetition review of the words you saved (Again / Good / Easy; Space shows the answer, 1-2-3 grade it).
• Word of the Day – one beginner word a day, with the last seven days.
• Games – Word Match (memory pairs) and Word Sort (which topic does the word belong to?).
• Search – find any English or Spanish word and the quiz that teaches it.
• My Progress – quizzes started, completed and mastered (★ = full list finished in both modes), plus your streak and flashcard counts.
• The 🌙 / ☀️ button in the menu switches dark mode for the whole site.

Privacy: all of this is stored only in your browser (localStorage). Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account; clearing your browser data clears your progress.

• Get a word right? 🎉 Great — it’s gone for good.
• Get it wrong? 😅 Uh-oh — it comes back one extra time for every miss until you get it right.
• Keep missing it? It’ll keep showing up until you get it right.
• The quiz ends only when you've mastered every word — even the stubborn ones. 🏆
